Pulp 2.0 Press, headquartered in Glendale, CA is pleased to announce the launch of its new magazines for the discriminating pop culture enthusiast. With our Print-on-Demand partnership with Amazon, Pulp 2.0 is embarking on a new venture to publish two new 'zines for the pulp market.
Both LETHAL LADIES and SCREEN HEROES ILLUSTRATED are annual journals that explore their subject matter with the comprehensive focus that you would find in the classic 'zines of yesteryear. Each volume will take one subject and explore it fully across multiple media and iteration.
LETHAL LADIES explores the fantastic femmes of pop culture - paperbacks, comics, movies, TV, and elsewhere. It also explores the context in which they were created, and the dichotomy that often occured when presenting an independent feminist character in an exploitative manner. Presented in a celebratory journal for both fans and pop culture academics.
SCREEN HEROES ILLUSTRATED follows the media exploits of heroes that cross over from one media to another. Heroes like TARZAN, CAPTAIN MARVEL, FLASH GORDON, all of whom have made their mark in books, comics, movies, TV, toys, and games. SHI specializes in covering all of those "superheroes" and how their look changed from one media to another - part pop culture heroic celebration, part media analysis.
Both journals will be produced with the same quality and price point readers come to expect from Pulp 2.0. Both will be full color, squarebound format zines continually available from Amazon, and readers will be able to obtain individual volumes or complete sets at any time after publication.
